Nineties Hen Party

Sunday 31 August 2014

 Hey Honeybees!

This weekend I had the honour of attending my friend Jenni's hen party. The hen night was a nineties night at a hotel and spa called Village hotel.

We started the night in the Bride to Be's room having some drinks and food.

The Bride to be and I.

To get us ready to have a good night we played a couple of games. The first being we all took two things from our handbags and put them in a bag for the B2B to pick them out and guess who they belong to. Of course we had to play Mr and Mrs, Jenni's sister had asked the G2B some questions and Jenni had to match her answers to the H2B.
My favourite game has to be making a dress out of toilet paper for Jenni.  We decided once this outfit was complete that the bride needed to walk down an aisle. We all went into the hotel corridor and started singing here comes the bride when we realised no one had brought the key for the room. Two of the party had to go down to reception barefoot to get another key.

TP fun

After the fun and games it was time to get ready for the evenings events. As it was a nineties evening we had decided to dress up as pop stars from the nineties. I went as Britney Spears, Jenni as baby spice and we also had Scary and Ginger spice and Madonna,

The night started with drinks and a three course meal, Potato and leek soup for starters, chicken vegetables, mash and gravy for the main and profiteroles for pudding.

After the meal there was a disco, playing classic cheese pop like Steps, 5ive, and the Spice Girls amongst others.

Through the night we kept ourselves topped up with cocktails. We got a jug of a cocktail called Purple Rain which tasted like the sweets parma violets

When the night ended we all headed back to our rooms where I ordered a rather delicious pizza from room service.

That was the end of a rather lovely weekend I'm so glad i was invited.

So that was a little glimpse into my weekend I hope you enjoyed it.
What is your favourite thing about Hen nights?

Thanks for reading and following. xx

OOTD - Floral

Saturday 30 August 2014

Hey Honeybees!

I'm going to be doing a few OOTD as I bought lots of new clothes recently for my Birthday. Here's the first one.

The kimono I'm wearing is from Yours clothing it's in the sale at the moment for £12. The sizing on this is really good I had to size down and it was still loose fitting. The colour is a lovely turquoise with pink flowers and it also has butterflies on. The material is really good quality and soft to the touch. I love it so much.

Yours clothing - £12

The leggings I'm wearing are from Asos Curve they were £18. The base colour is black and they have a pink cherry blossom print on. Again they are great quality and you get plenty of material. They feel really nice to touch and are really comfy to wear.

Asos Curve - £18

The black T-shirt I'm wearing is from New look Inspire is costs £9.99. It is a long black t-shirt and at the back it has a lace cross detail.

New Look Inspire - £9.99

So the whole outfit only cost me £40 which is pretty good and I really like it as an OOTD.

What do you guys think, do you like it? Would you style it different? Let me know.

Thanks once again for reading and following. xx

Etherow Park OOTD

Sunday 24 August 2014

Hey Honeybees!

Today Mr Honeybee and I took a stroll around Etherow park. I took the opportunity to wear some of my new clothes that I bought with my Birthday money.
Etherow park has a beautiful boating lake and lovely woodland walks. There are plenty of birds to feed, ducks and swans mainly so we took a couple of loaves of bread. Etherow has some beautiful spots around the park, there's a large waterfall with some picnic tables near by and also there is some pretty bridges over the water.
As well as the birds people use the water to sail boats and even drive toy boats, it's a perfect place for families to visit.

Etherow Park
The weather stayed dry and despite the clouds there was some sunshine around. I decided that a nice dress was a good option to take. I wore a royal blue sleeveless skater dress with a red flower print from the New look Inspire range. I actually bought it off ASOS as they sell New Look on there, it was £14.99. The material is a silky satin and is quite thin so if you want to wear it in autumn/winter I suggest tights and a cardigan.

My Pale pink bomber jacket came from the Boohoo plus range it cost £20. It has three quarter sleeves, and it is also a soft satin/silk. I think the sizing is a bit small so it might be better to size up if you buy one, it also comes in black or blue.

On my legs I wore a pair of Asos Curve 80 denier footless tights that cost £6. I do like these and they do fit but they do still roll down. I'm not sure why, whether it's because I'm fat or because they are a shiny material, either way they drove me mad going round the park. I suggest wearing a pair of Knickers or shorts over them as that seems to keep them where they should be.
On my feet I wore a pair of ballerina flats with a blue flower pattern that I talked about in a previous post, I got them from Ebay.

My bag, a navy blue satchel came from Primark this has been featured in a previous blog. It also comes in black, brown and beige.

My jewellery is all from Primark and has been featured in another post. My cocktail ring is a white and blue daisy with a silver band, my bracelet is also silver with blue stones and my necklace is also daisy's in dark and light blue on a gold chain.

I really enjoyed walking round with my other half feeding the ducks. Here's the only picture Mr Honeybee would let me take of him.

I hope you enjoyed that what do you guys think of my OOTD? Let me know in the comments.

Thanks for reading and also thanks and welcome to my new honeybees. xx

Birthday Drugstore Haul

Wednesday 20 August 2014

Hey Honeybees!

I recently had my Birthday, so I had a bit of money and some gift cards to spend. I wanted to get some beauty bits so I headed over to Superdrug and Boots to pick up a few treats.
My first stop was Superdrug I wanted to get some new make-up brushes. I bought the Real Techniques core collection, which has four brushes included for £20.99. The set includes a detailer brush which can be used to conceal problem areas. There's a pointed foundation brush to use with liquid foundation. You also get a buffing brush for applying powder. The final brush in the set is a contour brush, this can be used with a highlighter. The set comes in a handy panoramic case.
I also picked up a single Real Techniques shading brush for blending eye-shadow. This brush is priced at £6.99.

Superdrug - £20.99 & £6.99

The next things that I bought I've wanted since they were released. I picked up two of the Tanya Burr lip-gloss range for £6.99 each. I chose the colours Chic and Picnic in the park.

Superdrug - £6.99 each
After Superdrug I popped over to Boots to have a look at the Soap and Glory range. There's a 3 for 2 offer on at the moment getting the cheapest free. I got the Orangeasm zesty and revitalising body wash for £6.50 and the super-colour Sexy Mother Pucker lip gloss in colours Half Baked and Pink Apricot which were £9 each. For some reason I only got £4.50 off which I've only just discovered so if you're getting this offer check your receipt before you leave the store.

Boots - 3 for 2

Also from Boots I got myself some new foundation and concealer. I chose the Rimmel London Wake Me Up foundation in the colour porcelain and the matching concealer only I had to get this in the colour Ivory, there's not much difference to be honest. The foundation was £8.99 and the concealer £5.49.

Boots - £8.99 & £5.49

The last beauty product I got was actually from Tesco because I forgot to pick it up in Boots or Superdrug. I got the Rimmel London Stay Matte pressed powder in Peach Glow for £3.99.

Tesco - £3.99
That's everything I got on this trip, have you tried any of these products, what do you think of them?

A trip to Lytham St Anne's beach

Monday 18 August 2014

Hey Honeybees!

At the weekend Mr Honeybee and myself took Charlie my one year old Yorkshire Terrier, to Lytham St Anne's beach for a nice run. The weather managed to stay dry although it was a bit windy. We took a football and tennis ball for Charlie to play with and we let him off the lead for the first time. I was scared at first but he was good as gold and didn't go far. We all had a great time.

Here are some of the photos we took. Please excuse my hair I had to tie it back because it was so windy and I look like a numpty.
